Launch your project in the Lifesciences and Health Sector
Objective
The main objective of APiL is to provide participants with an international, hybrid, professional, comprehensive and high-level programme on innovation management, business development and entrepreneurship in the fields of life sciences as well as optimal conditions for creating or developing their own venture, being a project manager in a large company or joining a company as an intrapreneur.Students will be part of a team, working on a concrete, operational project during the programme. In addition to projects carried out by some of the candidates, APiL will promote professional projects supported by companies among the biotech, medtech and bigtech healthcare ecosystems.

PhD students, life scientists, physicians, biotech or IT engineers, pharmacists, executives in the Biotech, Medtech, BigTech sectors, future or current entrepreneurs with a passion for life sciences & healthcare.

Curriculum
A 15 MONTHS PROGRAMME TO LAUNCH YOUR PROJECT
This part-time teaching programme starts in mid September and ends up by mid December of the following year.
Students follow business courses, capsules, modules on entrepreneurship and start-up creation in life sciences and healthcare, workshops, companies visits, and other seminars. These courses are followed by a 3-month period to achieve a professional thesis and a business plan which will be presented to the jury, the latest by mid-December.
Business Essentials - 6 modules on management
The programme includes presentations of internally carried-out and externally proposed business projects and opportunities + team building.
Participants will get credit for six online asynchronous ESCP modules on business essentials.

Innovation & Entrepreneurship Projects
Between November and June, participants will dig in the peculiarities of innovation-driven projects, business development and entrepreneurship in life sciences and health organised along four hybrid, innovative, managerially-oriented pedagogical moments:
- Online video capsules created by renowned experts associated with specific lessons (when required) and synchronous on-distance webinars.
- Teamwork mentored by first-class sponsors, recognised experts and coaches.
- Hands-on teamwork on collective business ventures and entrepreneurial projects.
On-campus sessions
On top of the online video capsules, students get the opportunity to follow sessions directly on ESCP and Institut Pasteur campuses.
These sessions are dedicated to workshops, company visits, meetings with high-flyer entrepreneurs, top managers, VCs & investors, think tanks & incubators, healthcare data specialists.
Professional Mission, Professional Thesis or Business Plan
At the end of the year, an individual academic thesis OR a business plan linked to the project on which the students have worked during the curriculum is to be written, and defended in front of a jury.
The Corporate Relations Department
The Company Relations Department is dedicated to gather placement offers from many companies. The department also organises a series of fairs involving firms, giving students many opportunities to make contact.

Admissions
Requirements
- Master Degree (minimum 300 ECTS credits) OR Bachelor Degree (minimum 180 ECTS credits) with 2 years of professional experience
- Proficiency in English
We accept students, PhD students, or young professionals who wish to develop their own business.
It is not mandatory for applicants to have an entrepreneurial project already in place.
The requested short presentation can just be purely theoretical at that stage of the selection process and the main idea is to look at the creative / business venture mindset of the applicant.
Procedure
Step 1: Application
Applications are made online. Carefully complete the online application form before the deadline specified in the Admission Calendar and include the following required documents:
- A Curriculum Vitae
- A motivation letter
- Two reference letters
- A copy of a Master/ or a Bachelor diploma already obtained OR a certificate of enrolment
- A copy of your TOEFL or TOEIC listening and reading score or IELTS score (taken within the last two years) - C1 level
An admission committee declares the eligibility of candidates. Eligibility results will be displayed on our website.
Step 2: Personal Interview
If you are declared eligible, you are invited to a personal interview online with the Selection Committee. Acceptance results are sent out by email on the date specified in the Admission Calendar.
Step 3: Confirmation
If you are accepted and offered a place you must confirm acceptance of the offer by the date specified in the Admission Calendar and pay a non-refundable deposit of €2.000 to secure a place in the programme.

The fees are invoiced either:
- in one instalment at the beginning of the academic year
- direct debit option: 6 monthly instalments paid from November to April
Applicants who are offered a place must confirm their acceptance and pay a non-refundable deposit of €2,000 for tuition fees.
