The MBA in International Management’s goals

ESCP’s MBA in International Management was designed in order to provide young professionals with a deeper understanding of worldwide business. The main goal of the programme is to cover all the functional areas of management and provide students with a wealth of different perspectives.

ESCP’s MBA is an intensive programme with around 500 teaching hours. There is only one intake per year, every September. The programme and curriculum are structured around the following high points: onboarding online classes, core courses, 2 Company Consultancy Projects, 3 x 3-day Seminars, 4 Electives, optional language courses and international Career events throughout the year.

During the 10-month MBA, students are given the opportunity to choose from 24 electives offered over 7 countries. Electives enable them to specialise or diversify their education. Whether you are interested in Portfolio Management, Creativity Marketing or Social Entrepreneurship, there is an elective to help you deepen your topic of interest.

Hands-on experience plays a big part in the programme. MBA students are asked to participate in two Company Consultancy Projects. This way, they get the chance to consult for real companies and expand their international work experience.

Should you apply?
Entry requirements to ESCP’s MBA in International Management

If you think of yourself as an internationally-minded individual eager to develop his or her leadership skills, you may consider applying to ESCP’s MBA.

In order to apply, prospective students must hold a previous Bachelor or Master’s degree in any discipline. MBA students come from very diverse fields, from Art to Engineering, Marketing or Law. This contributes to diversity in the classroom.

Having a minimum of 3-years’ work experience is also required. This ensures that MBA students have enough maturity to follow the programme. Occasional exceptions may be made for students who show outstanding leadership through professional and personal experiences.

All students must be proficient in English.

Degree Awards

Degrees from ESCP campus countries

The integrated programme curriculum offers the possibility to obtain up to two national degrees in ESCP campus countries.

French accredited Master degree

The MBA in International Management is an ESCP diploma as well as an official state-accredited Master degree* (Grade de Master II) delivered by the French Ministry of Higher Education and recognised worldwide for students who have attained a four year bachelor degree or a first master degree before integrating the programme.

For those entering the MBA in International Management holding a three year Bachelor degree (180 ECTS equivalent) with a minimum of three years of professional experience it is also possible to receive the Grade de Master II through a specific process academically validating their professional experience. They will need to fill an additional form which will be reviewed by our ESCP Admission Committee. The result will be communicated in the same time as the result of their admission into the programme.

*ESCP declares that the diploma obtained on completion of the MBA in International Management (300 ECTS) is officially recognised in France by the French Ministry of Education and Research (O.G. nº3 - 24 July 2014).

German state-accredited degree

Students have the option to receive the German state-accredited degree in addition to the French accredited degree by completing an additional semester in Berlin. Students will follow a set of additional courses and write their MBA master thesis, to be awarded a total of 120 ECTS. The MBA in International Management is officially recognised by the Berlin Senate for Education, Science and Research.

ESCP’s MBA in International Management is the perfect start-point to initiate a successful career change in business.

Whether you are already familiar with business and management theories or are completely new to the field, ESCP’s MBA will allow you to cover all the functional areas of management. The internationality of the programme provides a rich multicultural experience.

The 10-month, full-time MBA in International Management can also be topped with an optional four to six-month internship, for more hands-on experience.

ECTS Credits

The MBA in International Management’s curriculum awards a total of 90 ECTS credits. The ESCP MBA programme is principally taught by our permanent faculty from more than 20 countries.

Company Consultancy Projects
Experiential learning

The Company Consultancy Projects are a key element of the programme that enables students to get to know a specific sector or function while consulting with 2 companies on real projects, within 2 countries.

You will accomplish two Company Consultancy Projects during the MBA in International Management, which allow you to put into practice the concepts acquired in the classroom. The projects provide students with collaborative and intercultural work experience on a case provided by a company. In groups of 5-6, students are expected to perform an in-depth analysis and make recommendations for actions that can realistically be implemented by the company.

You will learn how to approach an issue with a critical mindset and how to react swiftly in unexpected situations with a creative and open-minded attitude. Throughout the project, tutoring is provided by an ESCP professor and/or an experienced consultant.

Who should apply?
Entry requirements for the MBA in International Management

In order to apply to the MBA in International Management, you have to comply with the following requirements:

  • You must hold a previous Bachelor or Master’s degree (or equivalent) in any discipline
  • You must have a minimum of 3-years’ work experience.
    Note that applicants with less experience who demonstrate exceptional maturity and outstanding leadership through their professional and personal experiences will also be considered.
  • Proficiency in English

Visa

For Non-EU or Non-Swiss Nationals

Non-European Economic Area (EEA) and non-Swiss nationals will need a visa to study in the UK or EU.
For studies of up to 6 months in the UK, students are advised to apply for a Standard Visitor Visa. ESCP will provide upon request the Visa Letter to support visa application once the student has confirmed enrolment.

EEA and Swiss Nationals will be allowed to study in the UK for six months without applying for a visa. This will not allow students to carry out work placements and internships.

The application process

Step 1: Application form

Applications are made online. The application form must be entirely completed in English and submitted before the deadline specified in the Admission Calendar.

The following documents are required:

  • Admission Test: GMAT (online test accepted), GRE or Tage Mage certificate.
    If you are unable to provide a GMAT, GRE or Tage Mage certificate, you may take an ESCP admission test during the admission session, on-campus or online.
  • English language certificate: TOEFL written test; TOEFL IBT; TOEFL computer-based; IELTS.
    Candidates without any language qualification certificates will be tested during the admission session on-campus or online.
  • Candidates who can prove that they have earned a university degree taught entirely in English or those who have lived for 3 years in an English-speaking country are exempt from the English test.
  • Degree certificate
  • Grade transcripts covering all years of university study
  • At least one reference (e.g. an employer’s reference)
  • CV (in English)
  • Photocopy of your passport or ID

Additional language certificates are a plus.

The application fee is €180.

Step 2: Personal Interview

Each application procedure starts by submitting an online application. Once completed, your application will be reviewed. Each selected candidate will be interviewed by a panel made up of programme directors, faculty and alumni. A Skype interview can be offered to candidates residing outside of Europe.

Step 3: Confirmation

You will receive the admission decision within three weeks after the admission session.
Admitted candidates must confirm their acceptance by the deadline indicated in the offer letter. A non-refundable deposit of €5,000 is required to secure a place in the programme once admission has been granted. This amount is deducted from the total tuition fees.

Fees & Projected Costs

Are you considering applying to ESCP’s MBA in International Management? On this page, you will find information regarding the fees, costs, grants and financials relative to the MBA.

Accreditation

The MBA is a Master's-level higher education degree accredited by the Ministry of Higher Education of France. The degree is registered with the Répertoire National des Certifications Professionnelles (RNCP) under the number RNCP 35570.

Application Fees

  • In order to apply to ESCP’s MBA, a payment of €180 for application fees is required.

Fees

Once your application has been submitted and you have been granted admission to the programme, the fee for the MBA in International Management 2021 intake is €47,000.
You will find more information about the kind of financial help that is available to students in the next section.

Adjacent costs

On top of these fees, students should consider the adjacent costs that come along with tuition. These costs include but are not limited to:

  • Rent and costs related to accommodation around the different campuses
  • Food
  • Travel
  • Leisure
  • Mobile phone contract

Financing your MBA at ESCP

ESCP Business School offers a range of financing options, as well as scholarships for eligible candidates. ESCP scholarships, grants and discounts are not accumulative. The maximum amount of funding given is €15,000.
For French citizens only: please note that you can use your Compte Personnel de Formation (CPF) to help finance your MBA in International Management. Find more info on the French government website.

ESCP Grants

ESCP Grants are awarded at the end of each admission session.
Contact one of our admissions coordinators for any questions you may have about scholarships.

  • Diversity and Merit grants

    Up to €8,000
    These grants are based on the candidate's profile: educational background, work experience, personality and unique profile (specific geographical zones, life experience, etc.) as well as academic results.

  • Excellence grant

    Up to €9,000
    This grant is based on the candidate's application results.

ESCP Scholarships

ESCP Scholarships are available to admitted candidates of the MBA in International Management. These scholarships are judged by a panel including the MBA Programme Director, Associate Dean and a professional from the industry.

MBA Pioneer Award
  • Up to €2,500
  • Available for all students.
  • In order to be eligible, you must apply to the MBA before January 31st 2022 and provide a proof of payment within two weeks following the admission results.

This scholarship is cumulative with the grants or other scholarships (except with the Women in Leadership, NGO and Entrepreneurial Scholarships).
