ESCP Turin Campus awards a generous amount in scholarships.

For the sixth consecutive year, talented incoming and prospective ESCP students were able to experience the business school and its teaching methods by participating in the BSc in Management Scholarship Contest, with a total of €16,920 being awarded in prizes.

The 2023 Business Simulation Contest, organised annually by the Turin campus, was hosted by Associate Professor Isabella Maggioni and Affiliate Professor Regina Brix.

Fabrizio Granà, Academic Director of the Bachelor in Management at the Turin Campus, announced the top 3 teams and the winners of the scholarships.

The competition challenged a select number of students from high schools across Italy in an engaging business simulation, testing their strategic and decision-making skills

The young participants were then divided into groups, each working on a business case designed to assess the students' analytical and strategic insight. The students then took the floor to present their findings and engage in a Q&A session with the judges and their peers.

The business game stimulated the students' curiosity and the participants showed enthusiasm, strong commitment, critical thinking and leadership skills.

The judges assessed individual performance in the business simulation and how the students interacted as a team. From a very talented pool, they selected three winners. Each will receive a partial scholarship for the next academic year at ESCP Business School. Here they are:

  • the first-place winner, Guglielmo Paracchi of Saint Louis School of Milan, received a 50% tuition scholarship;
  • the second-place winner, Angelo Furnò of the Social Institute of Turin, received a 30% scholarship;
  • the third-place winner, Riccardo Ciardelli of the International School of Como, received a 20% scholarship.

The competition challenged the participants by taking them out of their comfort zone, but they enjoyed the experience, which they found dynamic, fun and interactive. The event allowed them to experience ESCP's pedagogical approach and learning methods.

Meet the winner

We chatted about this incredible experience with the winner, Guglielmo Paracchi, a brilliant student passionate about economics, mathematics, physics and music.

You are the winner of the ESCP BSc in Management - Scholarship Contest. What do you think of this opportunity?
This opportunity is truly a dream come true, as it will provide me with the support I need to pursue my academic endeavours. I am grateful to ESCP for offering such a generous scholarship and recognising my potential as a student. I am determined to make the most of this opportunity and to use my education to make a positive impact in the world!

Which part of the competition was the most challenging for you?
I believe the challenge for me and my group was the limited time available to present the business case. It required us to condense a large amount of information into a brief speech while still ensuring that our ideas were clear and concise. Yet, we managed our way through the presentation through collaboration and communication.

What did you learn from this experience?
My takeaway from this experience is the importance of taking advantage of every opportunity, as I never expected to win the contest. This just shows how unpredictable life can be and how valuable it is to always be prepared and ready to seize any opportunity that comes our way.

What skills or talents do you think helped you win this scholarship?
I believe my strength is to approach unfamiliar environments with a positive attitude and willingness to learn. This allows me to adapt quickly to new challenges and elaborate ideas which can help me and my team.

What did you enjoy most about the competition?
I'm honoured to have had the opportunity to participate in the contest! I enjoyed getting out of my comfort zone by participating in something new, but also making new friends and connections in the most genuine way.

Congratulations to the winners and thank you to all participants for their enthusiasm and active participation!
